Irken Pub: Drink, Laughter, and Fun

... and Celebrities!

Okay so... was testing a new marker technique, one brought to my attention by in the form of gel pens. Normally I use markers and lack of color to give highlights. While that still works best, I've found gel pens can enhance the art none the less and had a great deal of fun. 

So here we have some of my main cast OCs all having a drink at the front table; Skoo, El, and Nen just being together like the good old days. A girl near to them seems to either be enamored with Skoo, or his heroic tales of stopping them crooked rebels with his bare hands.

Another table is celebrating The Foodening with an exotic delicacy called a CAKE, it even has an ancient proverb written on it: EAT ME!

In the back we can see Governor Sno has made an appearance with his body guard Pop, reinforcing his status with poses, and his secretary Miss Hawt. She thought it was a good promotional opportunity to mingle with common folk. Sno always feels like washing his hands. Pop is ready to wrestle people.

The reoccurance of Irken Credits has emerged, though ink blotted and made it hard to fix. Also the cubes on the tables are supposed to glow blue but I hadn't thought of a good way to make the effect yet. I might reupload later with slight digital fixes so as not to ruin the picture irl.

There were plans for a Skoobs appearance, or even a cute window washer, but in the end I had already spent so long on this I decided against it. Besides, Skoobs doesn't fit the normal IZ feel even if she can be quite funny.

My art is severely rusty, I know... but this is a picture promising I will continue to practice and try and fight through depression and past hardships with my art. I want to have big plans again and keep myself busy, just have to finish some things up and then I can do more like this. Part of this picture was cut off because it was bigger than the scanner. Only by about a few centimeters but it gives a blur to some of the foreground that kind of works lol.

Around 50+ markers and gelpens were used in this piece... yikes.
